Homowo is a harvest festival observed by Ghana's Ga people in the Greater Accra Region. The festival begins in August with the planting of crops (primarily maize and yam) before the rainy season begins. They perform a dance called Kpanlogo during the festival. The Ga people celebrate Homowo to commemorate a famine that occurred in their history in precolonial Ghana.
